Each gathering is centered around a spiritual theme chosen and guided by Davin. Buddhism is often the framework through which the readings and practices are approached, but no particular religious or philosophical ideology is subscribed to. There are no requirements, special skills or abilities that are necessary to attend. Just an open heart and a desire to connect with a community of seekers.

A meditative exploration in self-love would not be complete without engaging the historic buddhist practice called Metta. In this gathering, Davin debunks the idea of "selfishness" and leads a rich loving-kindness meditation that focuses attention on wishing oneself well. He uses the words of Sharon Salzberg as aid in contemplation.

Meditation practices can tend to steer away from the idea of aspiring or dreaming, but at the heart of being present to this moment, right here, right now is the truth of infinite possibility. In fact, the Buddha aspired to end suffering and so why should we not follow his lead and imagine the same for ourselves? In fact, what if dreaming and aspiring, different than longing and clinging, were incredible acts of self-love? In this gathering, Davin explores this theme precisely, offering his own unique take on meditation and manifestation.

Utilizing the philosophy of development that Ken Wilber championed around transcending and including, we revisit a younger version of ourselves so as to include all ourself in our current capacity to love. Davin also offers the words of Thich Nhat Hanh around loving our younger self and exercising mindfulness as a way to be come more and more intimate with them.

Have you ever heard the phrase "Your presence is present enough."? We are so quick to recognize that all we need from others is for them to show up, but why are we are we so reluctant to really show up for ourselves? Could it be an act of radical self-love simply to stay present with yourself, even through difficult feelings and emotions? In this gathering, Davin uses the words of Mark Nepo and Thich Nhat Hanh to explore what it might take to really be present to ourselves as an act of self-love and why we so often insist on distracting ourselves from ourselves.

Self-love is a popular mode of encouragement. Culture encourages us that we need to love ourselves in order to find peace and happiness and while this might be true, it seems complicated, doesn't it? Over the next few weeks, we will be exploring self-love in an effort to find actionable understanding for our lives. To begin with, this sit club gathering seeks to reconcile the Buddhist teaching of "no-self" with "self-love." How can these both be? In this gathering, Davin uses the words of Tsoknyi Rinpoche and Eckhart Tolle to being us into a deeper understanding that the most self-loving act we could engage, would be to embrace no-self.

This gathering is all about the space in between. The gap, if you will and how our sense of spaciousness is often limited. In this gathering we discuss the infinite space within and how knowing it, is a way of better connecting with the whole of the universe and with our divine purpose. In fact, understanding the infinite nature of space is to understand more clearly how to take action in our daily lives. Davin utilizes a reading from Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth to supplement this meditation and contemplation.

In the third, of a series on the three marks of existence, this gathering centers the human experience of suffering. While buddhism often focuses on suffering as a commonality that we all share as humans, many practitioners miss that the end of suffering is indeed the possibility that the Buddha illuminated. In this Sit Club gathering, Davin shares a meditation practice that invites us to sit with our suffering as a means of freeing ourselves from it. He is utilizes a reading from the teacher Adyashanti which speaks to the absence of suffering in every moment.

The concept of "no self" or "non-self" is a central belief in Buddhism, but the concept can seem esoteric and lofty. But what are the actual implications of in understanding the myth of "self" or "ego" and how might that influence the choices we make in our day-to-day lives? In this gathering, Davin dives deep into this topic utilizing the words of both Eckhart Tolle and Ram Dass to aid in the journey.

On this, the last Sunday in our reimagining advent series we utilize the wise teachings of Ram Dass. Specifically, we lean into the mantra he championed "I Am Loving Awareness" as a touchstone for a gathering. The truth is that loving is awareness and awareness is loving. One is not without the other, so to sit with one is to be drawn into the other. This is our path to love. This is our path to awareness.
